new baji Cricket Betting — T20 to Test, BPL to World Cup
new baji brings a wide range of betting markets for cricket fans in Bangladesh covering BPL, IPL, T20 World Cup and international matches. You can place bets before the match starts or while it is in progress.
Three formats of cricket and the most common competitions
The first step to understanding cricket betting is telling the formats apart — because the style of play, team strategy and variety of betting markets are completely different in each format.
T20: The fastest format, finished in 20 overs. BPL and IPL are the most popular competitions in this format among fans in Bangladesh. In betting, the chances of big scores or quick dismissals are higher each over, so markets change fast.
ODI (One-Day Match): In a 50-over match, a team's mid-game plan influences betting predictions. It is a little slower than T20, but the top batsman and total runs markets are very interesting here.
Test Cricket: Betting on a five-day match is the most complex. A team's batting depth, pitch behaviour and weather all combine to make odds change the most in this format.
Beyond Bangladesh Tigers matches, new baji carries wide markets for ICC tournaments, the T20 World Cup and international bilateral series. During the BPL season, local bettors show the most interest in franchise team matches — live betting is especially active at this time.
Popular betting markets and how they work
new baji offers various types of markets for cricket betting. Each works a little differently — explained below in simple terms.
Match Winner
A straight bet on which team will win the match. In T20 and ODI there are only two outcomes — team A wins or team B wins. In Test, draw is a third option.
Simplest marketToss Winner
A bet on which team will win the toss. It has no connection to the match result — so odds are generally almost equal for both teams.
Independent marketTop Batsman
A bet on which batsman will score the most runs within a specific team. Odds change quickly when wickets fall during an innings.
Player-based marketTotal Runs Over/Under
The bookmaker sets a target figure (e.g. 160 runs). You bet on whether the runs scored will go over that figure or stay under it. Pitch pace and team strength are important here.
Score-based marketMulti Bet
A single bet combining multiple matches or markets. All selections must win for you to win. Example: three selections at 1.50 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 4.32 combined odds — a ৳100 bet returns ৳432, but if even one selection loses, the entire bet is lost.
High-risk marketFirst Over Runs
A bet on how many runs will be scored in the first over of the match. Big shots in the opening over are common in T20, which makes this market particularly attractive.
Innings-opening marketAbout multi bet: In the example above, the three selections have odds of 1.50, 1.60 and 1.80 — multiplied together they give 4.32 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳432 if all selections win. If even one selection does not win, the full ৳100 is lost. Betting is for entertainment — it is not a guaranteed way to earn.
Football and other sports — differences from cricket
At new baji you can bet on football and other sports alongside cricket. However, the market structure is different for each sport.
Football
A draw is a common result in football — so markets have three options (team A wins, team B wins, draw). There is no draw in T20 cricket, but there is in Test. Handicap markets are more common in football.
Other sports
Kabaddi, tennis and badminton offer match winner markets, but the number of pre-match and live markets is fewer compared to cricket or football. Set-based or innings-based bets are also available in these sports.
Cricket vs others — key differences
The advantage of cricket betting is that markets update after every over — football does not update that frequently. In addition, top batsman, wickets and powerplay runs are specialised markets found only in cricket.
How odds are written in three formats
new baji displays odds in three formats. The price for the same outcome expressed three ways means the same thing. The example below shows what happens with a ৳1,000 bet on team A winning.
| Format | Price for team A to win | Total return on a ৳1,000 bet | Profit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.25 | ৳2,250 | ৳1,250 |
| Fractional | 5/4 | ৳2,250 | ৳1,250 |
| American | +125 | ৳2,250 | ৳1,250 |
The three odds above are actually the same — a ৳1,000 bet on team A winning returns ৳2,250 if won (৳1,250 profit + original ৳1,000 back). In American format, the + sign means how much profit you make on ৳100.
Now suppose team B is the favourite — their price is 1.25 in decimal (1/4 fractional, −400 American). A ৳1,000 bet gives only ৳250 profit (৳1,250 total return). In American format, the − sign means how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit — here that is ৳400.
An easy way to remember: decimal odds below 1.00 are impossible, 1.00 means zero profit. The higher the decimal odds, the less likely the market considers that outcome.
Betting is for entertainment: Understanding odds does not automatically mean you will win. Betting always carries risk — enjoy it only as entertainment and bet within your means. Read the responsible gaming guidelines to learn more about betting rules and responsible play.
Live in-play betting — odds change with every wicket and over
In live betting you can place bets while the match is in progress, and odds change with every event. Live betting at new baji is the most dynamic cricket experience.
For example: at the start of an innings the odds for team A and team B were roughly equal. When two wickets fall for team A in the third over, the market moves in favour of team B — team B's decimal odds drop and team A's rise. A bettor who believes team A will come back can now bet at comparatively more favourable odds.
After the powerplay, total runs markets are active; in the middle overs, top batsman markets; in the final overs, match winner — different markets are live at each stage. Quick decisions are needed in live betting because markets close with very little notice.

Some useful tips for cricket betting
-
1
Choose markets based on the format. Total runs markets are more active in T20; match winner markets run longer in Test. Understanding which market suits which format makes the betting experience more enjoyable.
-
2
Keep to your budget. Set a fixed amount before each bet and stay within that limit. Betting is a form of entertainment — avoid chasing losses by placing more bets.
-
3
Do not rush in live betting. You do not have to bet just because odds are changing quickly. Understand the market properly, then make your decision.
-
4
Check multiple markets together. Multi bets are attractive but carry more risk. Get comfortable with single markets first, then try multi bets.
-
5
Read the rules. Each market has slightly different rules. Reading the betting terms and conditions beforehand helps avoid confusion.
